Tonight my sons and I set off with the scouts group on a night walk up Mangere mountain, and wow it was the perfect night, such a beautiful starry sky. The children learnt about the different planets/stars, milky-way, wind gusts and matariki. I must say Mangere mountain has some of the most stunning views of Auckland at night. I sat there enjoying the fresh air feeling grateful to share precious times with my sons. I also couldn't help but hear the group of young boys laugh and joke on about stars, the sky, and the poos an
d wees lmao (I think their fave topic is poos and wees) admiring the view and feeling grateful for the amazing opportunities my sons and I have, I reflected on my day.
Today was a very special day. After months of anticipation my postgraduate thesis had finally been printed. 28000 words, a whole year to finish, and the most academically challenging experience I've ever had. Today was the day I got to hold my thesis in my hand, and I truly savoured that moment. A very proud but humbling moment. I think a day I will never forget. It is overwhelming, a mixture of feelings, feeling proud, emotional, humbled like laughing and crying at the same time. I sat in the library for a long time today, just staring at it.. Thinking "wow that is my work on the library shelves, and its there because it contributes to knowledge, knowledge that other students can learn from." I'm just so grateful god gave me the strength to achieve this massive milestone and more happy he blessed me with two beautiful boys to share this with.
